These bunch of islands are known for their mesmerizing underwater activities, splendid beaches, colorful coral reefs, forested volcanic mountains. They have wrapped the rich culture including approximately 400–450 indigenous Andamanese in the Andaman islands, the Jarawa and Sentinelese in particular maintaining steadfast independence and refusing most attempts at contact. The earliest archaeological evidence documents some 2,200 years. However, genetic and cultural studies suggest that the indigenous Andamanese people may have been isolated from other populations during the Middle Paleolithic, which ended 30,000 years ago.

In the Nicobar Islands, the indigenous people are the Nicobarese, or Nicobari, living throughout many of the islands, and the Shompen, restricted to the hinterland of Great Nicobar. More than 2,000 people belonging to the Karen tribe live in the Mayabunder tehsil of North Andaman district, and follow Christianity.

Apart from sightseeing the monuments of historical importance, enjoying the sand and the surf, the honeymooners can enjoy fresh crabs, prawns, tuna and a horde of other seafood items at blatantly cheap prices. One can enjoy multiple water sports like scuba diving, snorkeling, kayaking etc. which are not available in many other parts of India.

Port Blair houses both British-era colonial buildings, including the popular Cellular Jail, and a few World War II bunkers dating from the brief Japanese occupation.

The Andamans are a fairly safe destination. Tourism is still in its nascent stages which makes it almost hassle free for honeymooners. Saltwater crocodiles (Crocodylus porosus) are present within suitable habitat throughout the Andaman and Nicobar Islands and caution should be maintained while jumping into the water. The main crocodile populations are around Little Andaman Island (Northern and Western sides), Interview Island and in the narrow straits that separate the main islands MacPherson Strait, Andaman Strait, Homfrey Strait and Austen Strait. Crocodile populations are also known from many of the Nicobar Islands.

The 72 km wide landmass known as Northern Sentinel Island is home to the Sentinelese tribe, which is an indigenous tribe having lived in isolation for 60,000 years and they have not seen the light of modernisation. They maintain their sovereignty over the island and are hostile towards outsiders. It is illegal and dangerous to visit them and incidents have been reported when they have killed outsiders. Hence stay out of North Sentinel Island at all costs.

Some people come to see members of the Jarawa Tribe. However, this is not recommended as contact with the outside world; however the locals will advise you otherwise. They are a ferocious tribe known to shoot with poisoned arrows.

Andaman and Nicobar islands have huge populations of mosquitoes and malaria and dengue can happen if you are not cautious.
